• What are the opening hours of the swimming pool and wellness facilities?

  Below you will find the opening hours of our Wellness & Fitness facilities on the 16th floor.

  Swimming Pool
  Daily: 07:00 – 22:00

  Saunas & Steam Room

  • Monday to Friday: 17:00 – 22:00
    If you wish to use the saunas or steam room earlier, please inform our reception team, who will be happy to switch them on for you.
  • Saturday & Sunday: 07:00 – 22:00

  Fitness Centre
  Daily: 07:00 – 22:00

• Are towels available in the wellness area?

  No, towels are not provided in the wellness area. Two additional towels are available in your hotel room for use during your visit.

• Is swimwear mandatory in the wellness facilities?

  Yes, wearing swimwear is mandatory throughout our wellness facilities.

• What are the temperatures of the swimming pool and saunas?

  Our indoor swimming pool is heated to a comfortable temperature. The wellness area features one steam room (hamam) and two saunas with temperatures of 65°C and 85°C.

• What house rules apply in the swimming pool and wellness area?

  To ensure a pleasant and relaxing experience for all guests, we kindly ask you to observe the following house rules.

  General

  • The wellness centre is exclusively accessible to hotel guests.
  • Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Smoking is prohibited throughout the wellness centre.
  • Pets are not allowed.
  • Please respect the peace and quiet enjoyed by fellow guests.
  • Personal music devices are not permitted.
  • Running is prohibited in the swimming pool, wellness area, and fitness centre.
  • Used towels should be placed in the designated laundry baskets.
  • Personal grooming is not permitted in the wellness area for hygiene reasons.
  • Consuming outside food or beverages is not permitted.
  • Swimwear is mandatory at all times.

  Swimming Pool

  • Showering before entering the pool is mandatory.
  • Personal swimming equipment is not permitted.
  • The use of weights or fitness equipment in the pool area is prohibited.
  • Diving is not allowed.
  • Children without a swimming certificate must wear flotation devices (available at reception).
  • Children without a swimming certificate may only use the pool under the supervision of a parent or guardian.

  Wellness

  • Showering before using the saunas is mandatory.
  • Swimwear must be worn in the saunas.
  • A large, dry towel must be used while sitting in the sauna.
  • Electronic devices are not permitted in the saunas, including:
    • Mobile phones
    • Smartphones
    • Tablets
    • Laptops
    • Gaming devices

  Fitness Centre

  • The use of a towel is mandatory.
  • Please clean all fitness and cardio equipment after use.
  • Cleaning tissues and disinfectant are provided.
  • Please wear indoor sports shoes only.

  Safety

  • Access to the wellness centre is entirely at your own risk. There is no lifeguard or personal supervision on duty. CCTV is used in public areas for the safety and security of our guests and staff.
  • Van der Valk Hotel Schiedam and its employees cannot be held liable for personal injury, loss, or theft of personal belongings.
  • In case of an emergency, please contact the reception team at any time.
• What is the policy for children in the swimming pool and wellness area?

  The following rules apply to children:

  • Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

  No, there is no lifeguard on duty.

• Is access to the swimming pool included in my stay?

  Yes, complimentary access to the swimming pool is included for all hotel guests.

• Is the swimming pool accessible to non-hotel guests?

  No, the swimming pool is exclusively available to guests staying at the hotel.

• Is the wellness area accessible to non-hotel guests?

  No, the wellness facilities are exclusively available to hotel guests.

• Which wellness treatments can I book?

  No additional wellness treatments or spa services are available.

• May I enter the wellness area and swimming pool wearing regular shoes?

  You may wear your regular shoes up to the changing rooms. Blue protective shoe covers, available at the entrance of the wellness area, must be worn until you reach the changing facilities.

  Regular shoes are not permitted beyond the changing rooms.

• Do I need to make a reservation for the wellness facilities?

  No, reservations are neither required nor possible. You are welcome to use the wellness facilities freely during opening hours.

• Are there quiet hours or dedicated relaxation periods?

  No, there are no designated quiet hours or special relaxation time slots.
